Jennifer McCord

As an LPCC and NCC, I bring specialized training in evidence-based, relational approaches to therapy. My background includes Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels 1 and 2, EMDR, and SYMBIS facilitation, helping individuals and couples create meaningful and sustainable change.

I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and hold a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from Northern Arizona University. I have worked with young people and adults in a variety of capacities for more than twenty years, which has shaped my compassionate, developmentally informed approach to counseling.

I believe that each individual’s journey is unique and that life experiences impact people in distinct ways. I also understand that individuals respond differently to therapeutic modalities. With this in mind, I integrate a diverse range of therapeutic philosophies to create personalized treatment plans for each client. My work is grounded in research-based approaches, including person-centered, strengths-based, narrative, attachment-based, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused therapies.

I commonly support clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, and stress related to service-oriented professions. I believe meaningful change is possible at any stage of life, and that healing often begins with being truly seen, heard, and understood within a safe and supportive therapeutic space.

I strive to create a therapeutic environment rooted in confidentiality, empowerment, and collaboration, while offering practical tools to help clients meet their specific mental health goals. I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions to provide flexibility and accessibility for clients.

In addition to my clinical work, I served for many years on the advisory board for the Colorado Springs Fire Department Explorer Post and have volunteered with the International Association of Fire Fighters at the annual Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial. These experiences have deepened my respect for first responders and those who serve their communities.

I am passionate about working with adult individuals, couples, first responders, military members, and their families. I moved with my family to Colorado Springs in 2016 and live here with my husband of twenty-seven years, our two adult sons, and our French Bulldog. Colorado has been a tremendous blessing, and while I enjoy hiking and exploring the outdoors, I am also an avid reader who appreciates quiet evenings by a cozy fire with a good book.

If you are considering therapy, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing, growth, and greater connection.
